I’ve had an obsession with the colour brown for as long as I can remember, the raw earthiness of it. There is this vintage chest of drawers in my home that has the most perfect patina over the top, a little like this painting.
When painting Tethered I wanted to create something that encompassed the love I feel for brown, I wanted it to feel like coffee, like chocolate, a kiss.
